When I Grow Up
This post does not look to criticize the Singaporean Culture. It is just an analysis of the culture and lifestyle. It does not serve as deteriorating to Singapore.

5Cs – Singapore

- Cash
- Car
- Credit Card
- Condominium
- Country Club

All the 5Cs demand monetary prowess in order to obtain (boast) the possession of any of the 5Cs

Singapore Dream

- 5Cs

The Singapore Dream mainly pertains to obtaining the 5Cs.
Through jobs, work, education.
The Singapore Dream also consists of starting an ideal family.

Singapore Plan

- School
- Job
- Family
- 5Cs

1. Start off in a good kindergarten
2. Then into a renowned Primary School, scoring “Band 1s” for all subjects
3. Obtain a mind-blowing 260+ score for PSLE
4. Get into top secondary schools
5. Followed by JC
6. Next comes University
7. Maters Degree follows right after
8. Look for a high paying, demanding job
9. Earn money
10. Get married
11. Attain 5Cs

What it looks like:
born - study – study – study –study – study – study – work – work – die

Alternative 5Cs?

- Care
- Concern
- Compassion
- Courtesy
- Courage

These 5Cs focus mainly at morals. Imagine, when you were young,

Adult: “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
Child: “A pilot, a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman!”
Adult: “Good boy/girl. Must study hard ah”

This shows that the Singapore Plan is already embodied in us when we were little wee tots. This would be a stark contrast, and a jarring shock,

Adult: “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
Child: “Caring, courteous, a better person.”
Adult: “WTF are you talking about?!” *slaps*

Now that amazing vision of the child would be frowned upon, despite in the back of our minds, that would be so totally be OK.
